Escaping and shmup sequences
In many stages of the campaign (Story Mode), Lenin is tasked with rescuing reptiles (mostly caimans) from commercial farms and/or abattoirs.
In order to rescue the reptiles from captivity, the giant lizard must fight his way through the outskirts of the farms and/or abattoirs (defended by heavily armed thugs and/or soldiers) within a predetermined time limit.
After the protagonist has rescued 50% or more of the reptiles alive, it’s time to protect the transport en route to the base.
Lenin must defend the vehicle against wave after wave of enemies. They are armed with assault rifles, machine guns and even rocket launchers, which do significant amounts of damage to the vehicle; in contrast to the albino Komodo dragon, the transport has a relatively small amount of Hit Points, and its destruction spells a game over screen for the giant lizard (because the rescued reptiles end up killed in the crash/explosion).
The protagonist fires a heavy machine gun (Browning M2) to thin the enemies out, being given unlimited ammunition (no reloads) as a primary anti-frustration feature.
As with Rambo III for Sega Genesis (above), the bosses are all heavily armed tanks and combat helicopters, which Lenin must neutralize (quickly) to prevent the rescue vehicle from being destroyed.
Lizardmageddon: Brazil will feature plenty of shmup segments, as well as escaping sequences, in which Lenin must explode the crap outta numerous enemies before they give him a Game Over screen.
